Assignment 1 part 2

Meggie Besaw
Section 094
Assignment #1

The paper from my point of view is arguing about how teenagers and young adults are looked at as rebellious. The paper shows who looks down on them and why they are perceived to be rebellious. In the paper the writer talks a lot about the media and the influence it has on everybody but especially young adults. When I read this I don't think of it as much of a research paper because when I think of research papers i think of a topic about a specific person and not as interesting so the paper surprised me. The writer looks up quotes from different people and uses examples and you have to research this topic to write the paper and understand why. I was really surprised that this was a research paper because I am not usually interested in research papers and they are usually a little more dull then other types of papers. I think that this paper was written differently then the norm research papers I’ve read and I was a lot more interested in it.
I felt as if she wrote a little bit of her opinion in it and I didn’t think you could write your opinion in a research paper. I think you felt like that because you can write a research paper using all positives about the topic or negatives depending on how you feel about the topic. If you want to right a great research paper you have to put in all the information you know about it weather you agree to it or not.

  1. Hi, Meggie

I like your observation that: "When I read this I don't think of it as much of a research paper because when I think of research papers i think of a topic about a specific person and not as interesting so the paper surprised me." Why do you think that this writer chose to write her paper this way? Do you think that this is the kind of research paper we expect?

I would like to see more detail and specific examples, though, in a response. Show me what you are thinking and why you are thinking that way. This response is a bit too general to earn more than a check minus.
