Assignment 4 English 102

Meggie Besaw
Assignment 4
English 102

Questions I think can be very helpful but also can be useless if you don’t ask a question the right way. If you are looking to get a lot of feed back about your question you cannot ask a yes or no question those are the type of questions that will give you the least inquiry. I find asking why after your question tends to give you more of an answer to your question.  The more in depth your question is the better answer you’ll get out of them. When I think of questions I think of interviewing so if you are interviewing somebody about a topic talk to them like a person and make them feel comfortable.

1.     What sort of joy do you get out of working in a children’s hospital as a social worker?
2.     What is the hardest part about working with sick children?
3.     What sort of things do you do while working there?
4.     What type of degree do you need in social work to work in a children’s hospital? What degree would you encourage me to get?
5.     Why do Sick children need a social worker?
6.     Do you work with the kids more or more with the families/parents?  What sort of things do you do with them?
7.     How do you not get to attached to the children/families?
8.     What sort of team do you work with in the hospital?
9.     Why would you suggest this job to somebody?

  1. Hi, Meggie

These are INTERVIEW questions, which provide a set answer. That is, this seems like you're just talking to someone.

Inquiry-based questions have more than one answer, but are researchable ones; not ones you could simply ask another person to explain their thoughts.

Instead, you need research questions that begin with "Why", as you note, but you don't really have any why questions.

If you're interested in social work, do some research and see what the controversies or points of debate are.
